This has been an issue for years. You can go back and find people complaining about this same problem.
Does Wyze even care to fix it? Seems like it benefits them because it pushes people into buying a subscription. The cameras are cheap, the service is cheap, but the SD card function just stops working after a month.

Wyze cameras haven’t even been out for a decade.
Fair point, they started in 2017, so about 8 years. Still, they should have fixed this by now. Other companies use SD cards without this issue. Feels like they just don’t care.
@Wilson
I’ve had Wyze products since they launched, and I have SD cards in all of them. I only use Wyze-branded SD cards, and I’ve never had a single issue.
Yeah, Wyze cameras are hit or miss. When they work, they’re fine, but they’re unreliable. That’s why I only use them as backups. My main system is hardwired Unifi Protect.

Honestly, it’s usually the SD cards themselves that are the problem. They go bad pretty fast with constant overwriting.
Wyze has its issues, but SD cards don’t last forever. They have a limited number of write cycles before they fail.
If you use a WiFi camera that constantly records, a standard SD card might only last 6-12 months. A high-endurance card can last a few years. Heat, humidity, and usage all affect lifespan.
Best bet is to replace them every year or so, especially if you rely on the footage.
@Dave
I get what you’re saying, but my Eufy doorbell cam has been running on the same SD card for three years without a problem. With Wyze, I have to constantly reseat the card or unplug the camera to get it to work again.
