Wyze app on iOS vs Android, any real differences?

I am setting up Wyze cameras for security at my church. Does anyone know if the iOS and Android apps work the same, or are there any big differences? I want to get a tablet for monitoring, but I want to pick the right one.

We use both iOS and Android in our household. The apps work pretty much the same, no major differences.

Good to know. Thanks for the info.

I’ve been using Wyze for a long time and have a bunch of their devices. Just a heads-up, if this is for a church, I’d suggest looking into a wired system with local storage instead of relying on WiFi cameras. A hardwired setup will be way more reliable, especially if you need to monitor things 24/7.

@Miltan
I completely agree. The issue is budget. The church building has long runs, so a proper wired system would cost about $12k if we do it ourselves and close to $40k for a professional install. I was hoping for some funding through a homeland security grant, but we don’t seem to qualify as a high-priority location.

@MegWhitgal
That makes sense. Budget constraints are real. Maybe consider a mix—use wired cameras in the most important spots and supplement with Wyze for other areas?

@Miltan
I get the idea of using wired cameras, but in some places, running cables just isn’t practical. Wireless cameras can still work well if placed strategically.

I use both versions of the app and haven’t seen anything that would make a big difference. Everything seems to work about the same.

Hope you don’t have to reset them too often. Wyze cameras can be great, but sometimes they act up.

Yeah, they can be a bit unreliable at times. If you don’t mind occasional troubleshooting, they work fine.

I’ve had some issues too. My iOS app sometimes misses events, while the Android version picks them up just fine.
