Why won’t my Ring camera connect to WiFi after power outage?

I recently switched from a Blink to a Ring camera system. Everything went smoothly while setting up five cameras and connecting them. However, after a power outage, none of the Ring cameras will connect to WiFi. Other devices in the house connect without issues, even those farther from the router.

Here’s what I have tried so far:

  • Resetting the router and modem
  • Running the setup process on all cameras again, but no luck
  • Deleting all cameras and setting them up from scratch
  • Deleting and reinstalling the Ring app on my phone
  • Disabling the 5GHz band on the router to force connection on 2.4GHz only
  • Resetting the router and keeping only my phone connected to free up IP leases

Everything worked perfectly during the initial setup. Does anyone have suggestions or ideas for what might be causing this?

Did you try a full factory reset of one of the cameras? Sometimes the power outage can corrupt the settings.

Check if your router updated its firmware after the power outage. That can sometimes change settings like the channel or frequency.

Are you sure your router’s 2.4GHz band is still enabled? Some routers turn it off automatically after certain updates.

If your phone connects fine, can you try setting up a mobile hotspot and connecting one of the cameras to it? That might narrow down if the issue is with the router or the cameras.

Try moving one camera closer to the router during the setup process. Sometimes interference can make the initial handshake fail.
