After a recent break-in at my parents’ house and a shooting a few houses down earlier this year, I decided to set up cameras for added security.
As I was working, a neighbor approached me, questioning my actions and why I was installing the cameras.
About 30 minutes later, the police arrived. After explaining that it was my parents’ house and the reason for the cameras, the officers left without further issue.
It’s possible that your neighbours, who reported the crime to the police, are the ones who alert the burglars when no one is home
