Where do you think is the best spot for CCTV cameras around this house? The doors are marked in red and the windows are marked in blue. North is the front of the house with the driveway

I’m trying to figure out where to place CCTV cameras around my house. The doors are marked in red and the windows in blue on the diagram I attached. North is at the front of the house, and that’s where the driveway is. Any advice on placement would be helpful!

Got enough doors there mate?

I think the person who posted this has the colors swapped in the title.

Nah, this place is more like a fortress with no windows and just doors everywhere.

More doors than windows? What kind of setup is this?

The doors are also windows in most cases. For example, the two on the patio are French doors. The ground floor layout is a bit strange with only two actual windows.

I can’t really tell where the front of the house is just from this picture.

You should also add some motion sensors for the backyard in case someone tries to vandalize the cameras.

Place them where you want to see things. Buy enough cameras and put them everywhere. Blunt answer, but it’s hard to say for sure from just a top-down view. Usually, you’ll want one for the driveway, one for the garden, and cameras pointed at all entrances. How many cameras are you planning to get?

Here’s how I would place the cameras with 8 outdoor ones (+IR) at about 7-8 feet height, probably under the eaves.

If you get more cameras, consider adding a doorbell camera for two of the entrances and maybe an indoor camera pointing out the big window that faces the back patio.
