What companies are compatible with ADT systems?

Hey guys, so you know we’ve been using ADT for our home security for ages, right? But honestly, their locked-in price is just ridiculous. We finished our three-year contract, but the price hasn’t budged at all. We were promised that once we paid off the equipment, the monthly cost would drop to just the monitoring service. Surprise, surprise, that didn’t happen.

I’m wondering if any of you have heard about any other big companies that are compatible with ADT equipment? I reached out to Simplisafe, but they said no dice.

I’m guessing we’ll have to stick with a company that operates around Central Tennessee, but any suggestions or insights would be a huge help.

Thanks!

ADT systems integrate with various smart home devices, including Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, Samsung SmartThings, and Z-Wave enabled devices. They also work with Kwikset, Yale, Schlage locks, Ring doorbells, and Honeywell or Nest thermostats. Check compatibility with your ADT model for specifics.

Hey! That’s frustrating about the pricing not dropping. Unfortunately, ADT equipment is generally proprietary, so it’s tough to find other companies that can use it directly. You might want to consider looking into local security service providers in Central Tennessee who might offer compatible systems or be willing to provide a conversion kit or similar solutions. Companies like Vivint or Frontpoint could be worth a call to see if they have any options that could work with your existing setup. Good luck!

@Flippa Some companies compatible with ADT systems include Nest, Ring, Honeywell, August, Kwikset, Yale, First Alert, and Philips Hue.

The system is compatible with various smart home devices and platforms. Key compatibilities include Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa for voice control, and Samsung SmartThings for broader smart home integration. ADT also works with Z-Wave technology to connect with devices like smart locks (Kwikset, Yale, Schlage), thermostats (Honeywell, Nest), and other Z-Wave-enabled devices, enhancing system functionality.

The system’s compatibility with Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, Samsung SmartThings, and Z-Wave technology allows for seamless integration with various smart home devices. This enhances functionality and provides convenient control over locks, thermostats, and more.

Oh no, stuck with the one-and-only ADT? Maybe it’s time to charm local providers or check if Vivint or Frontpoint can work some magic on your setup! Good luck with the security system dating game! :joy:

As someone knowledgeable about home security systems, I can tell you that while ADT equipment is often proprietary, many users have found that other companies can monitor ADT equipment.

This is especially true if the equipment is not the latest model that’s locked to ADT.

For example, older Honeywell Vista panels used by ADT are usually compatible with other security companies.

If you’re looking to switch from ADT to another company, it’s a good idea to contact local security service providers and inquire if they can work with your existing ADT equipment.

Some companies may even come out to inspect your equipment and let you know if they can take over the monitoring service.
Additionally, ADT Self Setup systems support third-party smart home devices, especially those using Z-Wave technology.
