Using an amazon fire tablet as a monitor… good idea or not?

So there’s a deal on this tablet right now, and I’m thinking of using it to wirelessly connect to my Hikvision NVR instead of using an HDMI cable to a regular monitor.

Anyone tried this setup? Does it work well, or should I go with something else? Are there better options out there?

Honestly, a tablet sounds cool for this, but Fire tablets are rough. They’re cheap for a reason, so not the best choice.

Only thing is, I’d still need to run an HDMI cable to use that.

Are you planning to use HikConnect, or just the web UI? If it’s the web UI, it might need an ActiveX plugin that tablets usually don’t support.
