I have looked into all three ecosystems (Google Home, Apple Homekit, Amazon Alexa), and the consensus seems to be that Amazon Alexa is the best, Google is second, and Apple comes last due to compatibility issues. However, my research indicates that Homekit offers major benefits like secure video streams and faster performance because it runs locally. Can I get some input on this?

Don’t bother yourself. Simply choose HK. A little smaller selection of gadgets, but overall very high quality. Though not the most adaptable of the three systems you mention, Apple takes security extremely seriously, and it is flexible enough for 99.9% of your normal requirements.
