Can you guys give me some pros and cons for both devices?
Google speakers are great at understanding natural speech and integrating with Google services, but they’re not as compatible with many smart home devices and lack robust parental controls. Amazon devices, however, have broad smart home compatibility and strong parental controls but require more precise command phrases. Consider which ecosystem you’re more invested in, Google or Amazon.
@Devon
Agreed.
I’m thinking of switching everything to HomeKit for better privacy, even though it’s more expensive than Alexa or Google.

They’ve already started, but it’s mainly for security features, which makes sense to me.

I’d pay for advanced AI features that could manage daily tasks and routines for me.
Wouldn’t it be nice if it could do even more personal tasks?

Can you explain how to set up a hub with Google Assistant?

A hub connects to your smart home and uses local software to control everything, keeping your data private.
Google is more accurate for searching information, but Alexa is more user-friendly for families.

I’ve noticed that Amazon devices are really good at pushing their products and services.
Try saying ‘Hey Goog,’ it’s easier and works well with Google devices.
I can send you a Google device for free, I’m switching to Alexa entirely.
We tried both but ended up sticking with Google for its reliability and accuracy.
Why not try both and see which one fits your needs better? You can return them if they don’t work out.
I use Alexa for smart home tasks but considering adding Google for its TV compatibility.
Alexa is better for smart home management, but Google is superior for answering questions.
