Security cameras without a subscription?

We want to install 4 security cameras around our home. After reading an article comparing Blink and Ring, I think Blink might be what we need. I prefer the local storage option, but it seems like the free plan does not include motion-activated recording - is that correct?

So, my question is: if I do not want cloud storage, can I still have motion-activated recording saved locally without paying every month? Do other brands offer this?

Thanks everyone, good ideas here. I’ll check out Reolink since a few people mentioned it, and probably look into the other suggestions too.
