Security Camera Suggestions

I’m looking for new security cameras. Currently, I have Eufy, but I’m dissatisfied because they only record when something is detected, and often miss movements even at the highest sensitivity.

I prefer cameras with continuous recording to a cloud-based service. I don’t mind paying a monthly or yearly fee, preferably under $15 monthly. I’d like to keep at least 10 days’ worth of videos before they loop.

So far, I’ve considered Nest and Reolink. Are there other options? Can Ring or Blink provide continuous recording, or do they only record motion?

Thank you!

Here are some options for security cameras that offer continuous recording to a cloud-based service:

  • Google Nest Cam: Nest cameras are known for their high-quality video and continuous recording capabilities. They offer a subscription service called Nest Aware, which provides 24/7 continuous recording and stores video history for up to 30 days.
  • Reolink: Reolink cameras, such as the RLC-833A, support continuous recording and offer cloud storage options. They are also known for their excellent video quality and features like person/vehicle detection.

Camera Options

Here’s a comparison of the brands you’ve mentioned, along with some additional suggestions:

Nest: Offers continuous recording with a subscription plan, but costs might exceed your $15 budget.

Reolink: Provides both continuous recording and motion detection, often with more affordable plans.

Ring: Focuses on motion detection, with some plans offering extended recording windows.

Blink: Primarily uses motion detection, similar to Ring.

Additional Options to Explore

Amcrest: Known for affordable cameras with various recording options, including continuous recording.
