I’ve been using a Nightowl home security system for about a year now, and it started out decent. But after three months, one camera kept going offline, and I had to unplug and reconnect it constantly. I thought it was an internet issue at first, but it’s definitely not related to the internet. Cameras 1-4 and 6-8 are fine, but camera 5 is always a problem. Now, 12 months in, two of the cameras that get more sun exposure are constantly offline as well.

Skip Ubiquiti too. Get a commercial system.
Can you be more specific about what brand?
There are a lot of options. On the cheaper end, you’ve got Dahua, Hikvision, UNV, and for mid-to-high end, look at brands like Hanwha or i-Pro/Panasonic. These brands typically come with a 5-year warranty and are more reliable. You might need to get a tradesperson to purchase them since they’re often only available through wholesalers, but places like B&H Photo may carry them. In general, if you can buy it in a consumer retail store or on Amazon, it’s buyer beware.
