My wife and I just bought a new home, and it has outdoor Sony cameras already built in around the exterior. We currently use Vivint at our old home, but they’ve told us their system isn’t compatible with Sony cameras.
Does anyone know of a security company that is compatible with built-in Sony cameras or has experience working with existing camera systems?
It’s going to be hard to find a security company that can monitor Sony cameras. Sony discontinued their cameras years ago, so it might be better to hire a company to replace them with cameras that can be monitored.
It depends on what type of cameras they are. If they’re IP cameras, you could use a Synology NVR with them. If they’re analog, almost any analog NVR can record their video. You don’t necessarily need the cameras connected to your security system, just a way to record and view them.
I’d recommend steering clear of Vivint altogether.
