Basically, my Nest Hub now sorts all my devices by rooms instead of by device type. That wouldn’t be a problem, except now it won’t let me stream my cameras at all…
Anyone else seeing this after a recent update?

Yep, same issue started today. The Home Control page now shows rooms, and the cameras are in a scrollable list, but I can’t stream any of them.

I’m chatting with support now to see if they can roll it back or push a fix. Not expecting much, but worth reporting. You should also submit feedback on your Hub and through Google One support if you have it.
@kyle
Good idea, I’ll report it both ways.
Really frustrating. We use our Nest Hubs as baby monitors, and now the cameras no longer appear in ‘Home Control’. If I try to go into a room and select a camera, nothing happens.

Same. I use mine with a Cubo AI, now streaming it to a tablet instead.
Same issue. Camera feeds won’t show!
Mine has always been organized by rooms.

The problem isn’t just the layout change. The cameras won’t stream at all now. The new setup makes me think this was a recent update that broke something.
@Kaleb
Yeah, I see what you mean now. The layout looks different on mine too. The biggest thing I noticed is that it switched back to dark mode when I normally use light mode.
Same issue here. Has anyone found a fix?

We’re also having this issue, but we figured out that using voice commands makes the cameras work.
We’ve had random “IDLE” screens from wired Nest cameras for a while, but now every camera does it. The issue seems to be affecting newer generation cameras, but not the older ones. Really wondering if this is a bigger bug tied to motion detection or power-saving settings.
@Jaime
After posting, I contacted support and they also suggested using voice commands to view camera feeds, which worked for me too. But the way it’s now organized into rooms is still really annoying.
They told me they’ve had a flood of complaints today and are escalating the issue. I sent them screenshots and device info, and they said they’ll follow up by email once they know more. Hoping they roll it back soon.
Still can’t stream cameras through Home Control, but saying “Hey Google, stream [camera name]” works fine.

Thanks for the tip! That worked. Wish Google would stop breaking things.
Nest camera feed works fine on my phone and tablet through the Home app, but on the Nest Hub, all cameras just show as “idle.” Tried factory reset, switching between 2.4GHz and 5GHz WiFi, and multiple power cycles. No change.
Looks like mine rolled back overnight. Everything is working normally again.

Same here, back to normal.

Mine too. Guess they realized they broke it.
