Wireless cameras have their downsides—they can be affected by WiFi jammers, may miss recordings, don’t usually support 24/7 recording, and can be lower quality. Wired PoE cameras are much more reliable.
Here’s a simple guide for setting up a wired system:
Get a Cat 5e or Cat 6 Ethernet cable (preferably 100% copper). You can buy them pre-assembled with RJ45 connectors.
Use a PoE NVR (network video recorder) or a PoE switch along with PoE cameras.
Connect it like this: Router → PoE switch or NVR → Camera.
