Looking for a wired security camera for my apartment… any suggestions?

Hi everyone,

I’m planning to buy a wired security camera for my apartment entrance. There’s already a power source on the wall (although I can’t upload the photo here).

What are some good options for cameras that I can mount and wire to the power myself?

Thanks!

What photo?

Where’s the photo?

I wasn’t able to upload a photo—this Reddit doesn’t seem to allow image uploads for some reason.

For the best video quality, check out Reolink, but its app and notifications could be better.

Eufy offers good free notifications, but the app glitches occasionally.

Ring has the easiest app to use, but you’ll need a subscription for video storage and smart notifications. Motion detection takes some fine-tuning to get right.

Wireless cams are mostly like toys. I install cameras for people and often replace brands like Arlo, Ring, Nest, and Blink. I recommend Reolink. It has AI and vehicle detection, and you can get a 4-camera system with a 6TB hard drive for around $600. Setup is pretty straightforward, as you can see here: https://youtu.be/XXpYhUU02G4.
