I need an outdoor camera to monitor the street in front of my house after some recent damage. I’m looking for a camera that records 24/7 and saves the footage so I can review it if something happens again. Any ideas on what works best for this kind of setup?
I use a 12MP Reolink system and it’s been great. I’ve tried Ring, Lorex, and Swann before, but Reolink has been the best for 24/7 recording. I upgraded the hard drive to 6TB, and it works really well.

How much 24/7 footage can you store with a 6TB drive? I’m thinking about getting Reolink cams and wondering how much space I’ll need.

With 4 outdoor cameras, 1 indoor fisheye, and a doorbell cam recording all the time, I can store about 14 days of footage on the 6TB drive.
I had Blink for 4 years, but switched to Ring and prefer it. I have 3 Ring cameras in the front and 2 in the back. Great coverage and easy access even when I’m not home. Very reliable.

I have a Ring doorbell too, but it only records when it detects motion. Does Ring have any cameras that record continuously?
Wireless cameras are usually not that great for continuous recording. We install cameras for people and often replace Arlo, Ring, Nest, and Blink systems with something better. I recommend Reolink—it has AI and vehicle detection, and you can get 4 cameras with a 6TB drive for around $600. Pretty easy to set up, check this video for more info: https://youtu.be/XXpYhUU02G4
