Hey everyone, I’ve been following this forum for a while and just got this as a gift. It’s a Western Airguns Rattler .45 rifle. I’m wondering… could this actually work for home defense? Or is it not reliable enough? I’d love to hear your thoughts and suggestions. Thanks!
Man, this thing takes too long to get ready. You need something smaller and easier to move or hide.

Why do you think so? Mine is all set up and the magazine is loaded.
@SarahPython
Unfortunately, a real firearm isn’t an option since I’m in the Netherlands. I thought this could work because it’s used in the US for hunting deer and boar. Thanks for your advice!

If it’s all you’ve got, it’ll have to do.
Unless you’re some kind of sniper, this won’t help much. You’d be better off with a small handgun kept in a safe spot.

Just so you know, it’s semi-automatic.
Does it come with a matching baseball bat?

Nope
What even is this? Are you serious or joking?
It’s got the same power as a .45 ACP pistol, which has been stopping people for decades. One shot to the chest and it’s game over. If it’s all you have, go for it. Just keep a knife on hand too in case things get close. Also, make it more compact—take off the suppressor and add a really bright light, at least 2000 lumens.
@Austin
Good idea with the bright light, thanks! That actually makes me feel more confident about using it.

No problem. Just make sure to keep it oiled regularly and check that the O-ring is in place.
