We left SimpliSafe because their cameras would fail every six months. Setting up replacements was a hassle.
File a dispute with your credit card company. Explain that you canceled and let SimpliSafe prove otherwise.

Thanks for the tip about virtual cards. I’ll set one up as a backup. I’m happy with SimpliSafe but have read about issues with canceling.
Companies can request updated card info from your bank if you have autopay enabled.
Look into Ecobee’s security service. It’s around $99 a year and does most of what SimpliSafe does.
SimpliSafe seems like a joke. I’ve heard stories of break-ins where their system didn’t help. Sounds more like it’s safe for thieves.
Wait until they send your account to collections. That’s when it gets fun.
The FTC now requires companies to make canceling as easy as signing up. Search for the ‘click to cancel’ rule.
Are you sure you’re calling the right number? I canceled mine today, but the first rep gave me a hard time. The second rep was helpful and canceled my account in five minutes. Try calling 1 (800) 548-9173 and insist they reverse any unauthorized charges.
If you need security cameras, just buy standalone ones like Eufy, Arlo, or Google. Avoid subscription services—they’re a money grab.

Reolink with an SD card is a good alternative. No subscription needed, and the cameras are better.
