I have a Vista 50 PUL alarm panel, and whenever the alarm is triggered, it calls my phone. I understand this is not a typical setup since we opted not to use a central monitoring service. Instead, the system is programmed to call my cell phone to notify me.
I’ve tried methods like calling the system back and entering the *20 or disarm code, but the calls don’t stop. Is there a way to stop the system from repeatedly dialing without removing my number entirely? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
If the panel itself is calling you, it’s not configured properly. Alarm panels are designed to communicate with a central station using specific protocols, not to call a regular phone. You’ll need to reprogram the panel to stop this behavior, but you may lose the notifications entirely unless you add an appropriate device like a voice dialer or smart integration.

Thanks for the info. This setup was intentional since my father-in-law didn’t want monitoring, just a way to get alerted when the alarm goes off. I’ll look into reconfiguring or adding an alternative system.
You’re trying to use the panel in a way it wasn’t designed for. The central station number is meant for a receiver to process alarm signals, not to call your phone. If you want direct notifications, look into a voice dialer or a device like Envisalink 4, which provides smart notifications and better functionality.

Appreciate the suggestion. I’ve added a Konnected interface to the panel, and I’m exploring Home Assistant integrations to take over the notifications. Hopefully, this will solve the issue.
The panel keeps calling because it doesn’t get the acknowledgment tones it’s looking for from your phone. It will eventually stop after several failed attempts and go into communication failure. To stop the calls, you’d need to remove your phone number from the programming.
@Bob
If I remove the number, it won’t call at all, correct? I’d like to keep notifications in some form. Can I send acknowledgment tones using my phone?

No, the tones are specific to alarm systems and can’t be sent from a regular phone. Your best option is to reconfigure the system or use a device like Konnected or Envisalink for proper notifications.
If you’re not using central monitoring, consider upgrading to a smart solution like Envisalink or Konnected. These options let you integrate the alarm with smart home platforms like Home Assistant, providing proper notifications and avoiding the issues with the current setup.
@Julius
I’ve already set up Konnected with the panel and integrated it into Home Assistant. It’s working well so far, and I’m exploring options for replacing the direct calls with smart notifications.
