Hey everyone,
Trying to mount a G5 PTZ camera, but I’m stuck on how to attach it to a hollow junction box where my Cat6 cable is. The usual anchors won’t work for this setup.
Any advice? Appreciate the help.

looks like your camera needs a horizontal box VS vertical, and then you’d be fine. remove the one you have and install a different one. the existing box is only held in with two sheetrock screws, and doesn’t look cut into your siding or that your siding has been cut to receive the box.
assuming this is your camera, it’s < 2lbs, so you should be fine with a similar style box.
i’m not seeing many horizontal boxes, with appropriate receivers for the screws, they’re all at a 45 degree tilt. you could alternately use a siding block, it doesn’t look like your camera needs a recess box anyways. for example https://cdn.menardc.com/main/items/media/NOVIK001/ProductXLarge/Surface_456.jpg

Thanks. I might try removing the box and replacing it with a siding block that matches.
I was really hoping I could just mount it directly to the plastic cover or at least punch a hole for the Cat6 cable.

You can give it a shot, but from the manufacturer’s page, your camera is designed to mount to a horizontal box, and yours is vertical. That means the backplate is going to be wider than your box.
One option is to get a metal single-gang box with a knockout and try using self-tapping screws to mount the camera to the cover. Just make sure to secure the cover to the box before drilling, so it doesn’t spin while you’re installing the camera.
Most hardware stores carry something like a Raco 861 or a similar option.
You might want to get the gang box adapter for the G5 PTZ.

I got the adapter today and tested it out.
Seems like it won’t be waterproof.
Ah, I should have looked at your first pictures more closely. You’ll need to replace the box trim so it sits flush instead of being raised.
