How to download or share multiple files from ring easily

I was on the phone with Ring support trying to figure out how to download or share multiple video files. They told me I could do it in groups of 50, but the process seems really frustrating. You can select the first 50 files starting from a specific date, but there’s no way to choose a time range, and once you download the first 50 files, there doesn’t seem to be a way to select the next 50 without going back and doing it manually.

Support kept telling me to select the correct timestamp, but then they backtracked and said I’d have to pick the files one by one. I asked for clear instructions on how to select 50 files at a time or navigate to the right section of the app or site, but they couldn’t explain it. Then the call dropped. They’d already put me on hold multiple times, so it felt like they were just trying to get rid of me without solving the issue.

I need to download close to 1,000 files to share with a contractor and the police. It seems absurd that Ring, a major residential security company, doesn’t offer a simple way to select a specific camera, date, and time range (e.g., “11/13/2024,” “8:00 AM to 5:00 PM”) and export/download all the relevant videos. Doing this manually for 1,000 files will take forever.

Does anyone know if there’s an easier way to do this in the app or on the Ring website? Maybe I used the wrong terms, like asking to “download” instead of “share” or “export.” Any tips or advice would help.

I’ve run into a similar issue. Unfortunately, Ring doesn’t have a proper bulk download or export tool. I had to manually download files one by one, and it’s a nightmare when you have a large number of videos.

That’s really disappointing. I was hoping there was a hidden feature or tool I didn’t know about. Did you find any workarounds, like using third-party software?

I haven’t found a good workaround yet. Some people suggest screen recording the playback as a last resort, but that’s also time-consuming and not ideal for sharing hundreds of files.

Have you tried asking support for a way to generate a cloud share or zip file? Sometimes they can create a link to share files for law enforcement or similar requests.

I didn’t ask for that specifically. I’ll reach out again and try asking for a cloud share link. Thanks for the suggestion.

No problem. Let us know if that works—it could save others a lot of hassle if it’s an option.

This has been a common complaint with Ring for years. They really need to add a proper export tool. It’s crazy that there isn’t an option to just select a date and time range and download everything.

It’s baffling. You’d think a company like Ring would have this figured out by now, especially with how common it is to need access to multiple files.
