Hi everyone! I have a Honeywell K4392V2-H M7240, and the keypad is way too loud whenever we enter a code or command. I’ve searched online but can only find ways to silence the chime—I want to lower or completely mute the keypad beeps.
When my husband leaves for work at 6 AM, the beeping wakes up the whole house. If anyone knows a way to turn it down (or off), I’d really appreciate the help. Thanks!
There’s no built-in way to mute just the keypad beeps. As others mentioned, you’ll need to open up the keypad. Inside, you’ll see a small round sounder in the top corner.
If you don’t want to disconnect it completely, try this:
Remove the sounder carefully (don’t unplug any wires).
Place a small piece of tape inside the keypad where the sounder sits (not directly on it).
Put the sounder back, close the keypad, and reattach it to the wall.
This should lower the volume significantly. If your system is monitored, ask your provider to put it on test mode before doing this, so you don’t accidentally trigger a false alarm.
