How do I start making my home safer?

Hi everyone, I’m new to this forum and trying to figure out the best way to secure my home. Are there any checklists or guides I can follow? I’m looking for practical advice on things like doors, windows, garages, and patios. Any tips would mean a lot!

You can find some good advice on YouTube for home security. Check out the 2A communities for suggestions on products that work well.

Thanks for the reply! I’ll look into 2A options, but I’m also interested in securing things like sliding doors, windows, and garages. Any specific tips?

Look up ‘home hardening’—it covers all those areas. By the way, I’d avoid Wranglerstar. He’s been a bit off lately. Canadian Prepper and Sensible Prepper are better options.

Appreciate the heads-up! I’ll check out their videos soon.

You could also try searching ‘home defense.’ It might give you ideas for specific situations.

I’ve been through two home invasions while I was inside. The best advice I can give is to have a plan and stay calm. If someone really wants to get in, they probably will, but you can make it harder for them. Security systems and equipment help, but what matters most is keeping yourself and your family safe. Everything else can be replaced.
