Help! Doorbell wires don’t seem to be controlled by the circuit breaker switch

Hey HA, I’m trying to install a wired smart/camera doorbell, and the instructions say to cut power to the doorbell before starting. I went to the circuit breaker and turned off every switch that might be powering it, but the doorbell still rings when pressed. Ahhh!

Any advice? I would really like to avoid getting electrocuted.

Oh man, I feel you… I had the same thing happen when I installed mine. Turns out, my doorbell was on a different circuit than I expected. Try switching off the main breaker to kill power to the whole house. It’s a bit of a hassle, but better than getting zapped! Safety first, right?
