A dog named Lucky was stolen from his home a few days ago in Catalonia and still hasn’t been found. The owners are heartbroken, and even though the police know who owns the van and who was driving it, they haven’t done much to help.
The dog’s owner posted a security video showing what happened. Here’s the link. What would you do in a situation like this? Would you try to get the dog back yourself?

Sounds awful. Did they at least catch the person?
The owner of the van wasn’t involved. It was one of his employees who did it, and he’s been fired. But the guy isn’t telling the police where the dog is. The problem is, the law sees dogs as property, so it’s not treated as a serious crime. Also, the justice system here in Catalonia is frustratingly slow, and the police aren’t very helpful.

Yeah, where I live in California, dogs are considered property too. It’s crazy—you can’t even use a gun to protect them legally. The gun laws here are just ridiculous.
That dog seemed really friendly—his tail was wagging.
I have two German shepherds, and they bark like crazy when anyone gets near the house. They’ve scared off quite a few people. If you’re worried about stuff like this, certain breeds can be trained to protect your home.
Also, I never leave my dogs outside when I’m not home. Anyway, I hope Lucky gets back to his family soon.
