I am thinking about getting the Nest Aware Plus subscription but need clarity on something. When they say all cameras in one home, does that mean as long as all cameras are under the same home group in the app, they are covered?
My cameras are listed under the same Nest Cam Home in the app, but they are on different WiFi networks because my property is big and has multiple setups. Does the subscription cover them all or just the ones on the same WiFi? Here is part of what I found on Google’s site:
“There are two tiers of pricing for Nest Aware which can be paid monthly or annually. Subscriptions start at just $8/month (or $80/year, with a $16 annual savings) across all the Nest cameras, doorbells, speakers, and displays in one home. Nest Aware Plus unlocks more days of event video history and 10 days of 24/7 video history for just $15/month (or $150/year, with a $30 annual savings).”
Each home group you set up in the app will need its own subscription. However, it doesn’t matter which WiFi network the cameras use or where they are physically located. The cameras just need to be added to the same home group to be covered.
I have 13 cameras in one group, and I often move some of them to different places, even job sites, using mobile hotspots.

Do you know if the subscription works for both 1st and 2nd gen cameras?
Yes, it works for both. I have a mix: 4 first-gen indoor cams, 5 IQ indoor cams, 1 IQ outdoor cam, 1 first-gen wired doorbell, 1 Hub Max camera, and 1 second-gen indoor camera. They are all on one Nest Aware Plus account.
It’s frustrating. I have cameras at home and at my office, but I can’t separate them into different groups in the app without paying for two subscriptions. I just keep them all in one group, and it works fine for me.
I have first-gen wired cameras on the Nest Aware Plus plan, and I use them in the Nest app. If I buy the newer wireless Nest cameras, which I think only work with the Google Home app, would they still be covered under my current plan?
From what I know, as long as all cameras are in the same home group in the app, the subscription will cover them. This works for up to 10 cameras. If you create a separate home group, the cameras in that group won’t be covered under the same subscription.
