I need to replace a motion floodlight and noticed the Ring smart floodlights. The website says they need a bridge for full functionality, but I can’t find the bridge anywhere. What’s the deal with the bridge and the floodlight? Will it work as a basic motion light without the bridge?
Yes, it will work, but you won’t be able to adjust settings like the light timer. Some Amazon Echo devices can act as a bridge though.

Thanks for the info. I don’t have any Echo devices. Not having all the features isn’t a dealbreaker, but it would be nice. Any idea why the bridge isn’t available?
I find replacing the D batteries on these lights to be a hassle.

I’m talking about the hardwired version of the floodlight.

I don’t have the hardwired version. Mine work without the bridge but don’t sync with the cameras. When I used the bridge, the light and cameras were triggered together.
