Do Ring or Ecobee security systems call the cops…?

Hey everyone, just wondering if the Ring or Ecobee security systems automatically call the police when an alarm goes off? Or do they just alert your phone or make a loud noise?

If they don’t, is there a DIY system out there that can handle that?

Ring does have a Protect Pro plan for $20 a month (or $200 a year) that includes professional monitoring.

No, they don’t. But Qolsys with an alarm.com subscription can do it.

The system itself won’t call the police. A monitoring station will do that for you. You need central monitoring. Surety with alarm.com gear is probably your best DIY bet.
