Continuous Recording Indoor Cameras to Keep an Eye on the Nanny?

Hey everyone! We’re about to start with a new nanny for our baby, and while we’ve done a background check and had several interviews, I’d feel more secure with some cameras set up around the house. I’m looking for continuous recording options that are easy to set up and don’t come with a monthly subscription.

I’d prefer battery-powered cameras, but I’m guessing that’s unlikely with continuous recording. Any suggestions? Thanks!

You may not need continuous recording. Most cameras can start recording with any slight movement, so nothing is missed. Just an idea, but maybe it’s just hard to leave your little one. Congratulations, by the way!

Definitely hard to leave them, even for just a few days a week. Feels like a tough choice, but it’s what works for our family right now.

Any continuous recording options without subscriptions?

Any camera with a MicroSD slot can record continuously with automatic overwrite, like Wyze.

As for battery-powered continuous recording, it’s rare but options like Reolink’s Altas PT Ultra provide about 96 hours before needing a recharge.

Is the nanny aware of the cameras? How does she feel about working with that level of monitoring?

Yes, she’s aware. I’ll leave her some reading material on it, just in case she wants to rethink the arrangement.

If a nanny is uncomfortable being monitored while watching a child, that’s a red flag. Good to be upfront, though.

Completely reasonable! It’s natural to want that extra peace of mind. Wyze cam v3 is affordable and works for continuous recording with a microSD. Reolink has some great indoor options, and both let you view live footage from your phone. Smart thinking on keeping things safe!

Make sure the nanny knows about the cameras. Most places allow them, but it’s best to be clear upfront, especially to avoid any privacy issues.
