Complicated Issue with Back Gate Lock

I need to lock my back gate from both the outside and inside. The challenge is that our gardeners need access from the driveway side, while we use the gate from the inside. I initially considered a remote lock, but the gardeners shouldn’t have to climb over to unlock it.

Does anyone have any ideas or solutions that could work in this situation? Your help is much appreciated!

Place a wooden pole in the track behind the door to serve as a lock while you look for a more suitable temporary solution.

For locking your back gate from both sides while allowing gardener access, consider a double-cylinder lock (keyed on both sides). Replace the cylinder or rekey it if needed. If the latch mechanism or strike is faulty, fix or replace them. Also, consider reinforcing the gate for added security.
