Last night at around midnight, a car parked outside a house across the street in our cul-de-sac and started flashing their brights into the windows of that home. They honked a few times at first, which got my attention, but then they stopped honking and just kept flashing the brights for about an hour.
They didn’t stay in one spot either. They’d move their car a bit to change the angle of the lights. Sometimes they turned the car off and just sat there. At one point, they even drove onto the front yard to flash the lights closer.
Eventually, a guy got out of the car and started walking around the front yard with his phone flashlight. He looked at the front porch, windows, and even checked out the car parked in the driveway. After that, he got back in his car, stayed a little while longer, and finally left. He drove into a parking lot behind the house for a bit before taking off.
What could this be about? If they wanted someone in the house to come out, why not just knock on the door? Super weird.
Could be someone trying to serve papers. Sometimes process servers get creative if the usual methods don’t work and they can’t get someone to come to the door.

Did they know you were watching? Just curious if they noticed anyone paying attention.
No, I made sure to stay hidden. I was peeking out of the blinds, and anytime the headlights pointed toward my house, I’d drop the blind back down so they wouldn’t see me.
