I’ve been searching for a while now, but I can’t find cameras that work at night and don’t require a subscription. My parents want something reliable, and I’m feeling a bit stuck.
There are plenty of options out there, but can you share more details? Like, what’s the budget, and do they prefer wireless or PoE setups?

They want to keep it under 800. I don’t think the other features matter much since they’re open to adjusting.
@Malcolm
How many cameras do they need?
Just 2 or 3. I don’t think they’ll need more than that.

For that range, they should check out NVR systems from brands like Reolink, Hikvision, and Dahua. Those might fit their needs.
I’ve installed over 60 Reolink PoE cameras, and they’ve been incredibly reliable. I use BlueIris to manage everything, including live views and recordings. Reolink’s own interface exists, but I can’t comment on it since I don’t use it.
