I’m deciding to invest in a home security system. I experience somewhat frequent power outages, so I’d like to have some sort of internet backup. Ring Alarm Pro with Protect Pro seems to fit the bill. However, Ring’s current camera offerings seem to leave much to be desired. Does anyone have recommendations?
Considerations:
- I would prefer to use HomeKit, but that seems difficult since Ring does not have native support. I don’t have any coding experience for Homebridge.
- I have two locations with existing wired sensor floodlights. The Ring Floodlight Cam would work, but it lacks battery backup for the camera.
- I would prefer to benefit from using Ring cameras if I’m already paying for Protect Pro. However, if I use other cameras, I do not want to pay for two subscriptions.
