Best mains-powered security camera with SIM for remote gate?

I’m looking for a security camera solution for my in-laws. They have a security gate at the bottom of their access track with a power source available, but it’s too far from the house for WiFi to reach.

They don’t want a solar-powered camera because the tree cover would block too much sunlight.

What’s a good option that:

  • Runs on mains power
  • Has a SIM card for remote access
  • Ideally has a wide-angle lens to capture both directions of the road

Any recommendations? Thanks!

If you find a solar-powered model that works for you, you might be able to power it using a DC adapter instead of the solar panel.

Check the voltage requirements and use a compatible adapter to plug it into mains power.

@Cedric
Fabulous, thank you so much!

You could get a Reolink 4G model and just skip using the solar panel.

@Zachariah
Forgive my ignorance, but how would you go about charging it? Does it just plug into the mains or is there an adapter for it?

If running a cable is an option, PoE (Power over Ethernet) can go up to 100 meters. Otherwise, a 4G LTE camera would be your best bet. Reolink and Eufy both have good options.
