Are there any DIY alarm systems available in Canada?

I’m thinking about setting up my own alarm system after Telus quoted $600 to replace three carbon monoxide detectors.

In the US, there are DIY options like those offered by alarm.com providers (e.g., Surety) and integrations with platforms like Noonlight for home automation. Is there anything similar for DIYers in Canada, specifically in Quebec?

Just a heads up, alarm.com owns Noonlight.

You can install a DSC Neo system yourself. It’s a reliable DIY option for alarms.

I’ve been researching Aqara, but it doesn’t have a keypad yet. They showcased one at CES 2024, but it hasn’t been released. SimpliiSafe is another decent option, but it’s not the best for home automation. Abode is a great system but only ships from the US, and duties can be expensive. Aqara seems promising since they have a variety of products, but I’m still undecided.

Alarmgrid.com offers DIY alarm solutions for Canadians. The catch is you have to pay in USD. Not sure if they support Noonlight, though.
