We’re moving into a small ground-floor unit and are looking for a budget-friendly home security system. We don’t need anything too elaborate—just the basics to alert us if someone opens a door or window when we’re not home or while we’re asleep. Ideally, we’d also like a motion sensor that won’t trigger for pets since we hope to adopt a cat within the next year. A camera with recording access limited to us would be a bonus.
We don’t require professional surveillance, outdoor cameras, or motion detectors. DIY installation is preferred, but hiring a professional isn’t a deal-breaker if necessary.
Additionally, we’re not interested in integrating Alexa, Google Assistant, or any other smart home platforms into our setup.
Thank you for your suggestions!
