I’m planning a new build with CX cameras and selecting a PoE switch for this setup. The documentation states a <12W PoE budget per camera, but what are some real-world numbers? What’s the power draw during the day and at night? I assume the onboard light also affects the power consumption.
Thanks for your help!
You’re overthinking it.
<12W means you should budget 12W per camera.
D-Link has a 10-port switch with 8 PoE ports and a total 96W power budget for around $60. That’s perfect for 8 cameras (8 * 12 = 96).
The CX410 and CX810 are real-world used for optimizing network performance, enhancing security, and managing large-scale data centers. They are applied in environments requiring high throughput and reliability, such as enterprise networks and cloud infrastructure.
