Slomins panel has a camera? What is it used for?

I just got new Slomins panels installed at home because my old ones stopped working. I noticed that the new panels have what looks like a small selfie camera built into them, but the installer didn’t mention anything about it. Does anyone know what it’s used for? Thanks in advance.

If I remember correctly, Slomins uses 2GIG panels. The camera is usually for facial recognition to arm/disarm the system. It can also be set up to take a picture whenever the system is armed or disarmed.

Some security companies use these cameras to log who arms and disarms the system. You might want to check the panel settings or ask Slomins support to see if it’s active.

It’s probably for user verification, but if you’re worried about privacy, see if there’s an option to disable it in the settings.
