Out of curiosity, how do people respond when you approach the door with a firearm? And how do you secure your weapons when you’re not home?

I have gun safes at home and in my truck. People acting aggressively usually back off when they see I’m armed. Genuine salespeople, though, just leave without issue. This guy’s behavior was not normal for a salesperson.
I used to sell door-to-door, and this guy’s behavior is not normal. Real salespeople are polite and professional because their job depends on it. It sounds like he wasn’t properly trained, or he wasn’t even a real salesman. But don’t stress too much—most burglars wouldn’t come to your door and show their face before robbing you.

Thanks for sharing your perspective. I don’t regret reporting him, though. Someone being rude and threatening on my property isn’t okay. I didn’t call 911, just the non-emergency line. I agree he was probably just unprofessional, but I’d rather be safe than sorry.
