Consider using the Nest Hub Max as a central hub for managing your smart home devices.

Can the Nest Hub Max act as a standalone hub for all these devices?

Yes, the Nest Hub Max can serve as a central point for controlling compatible smart devices within your home.

You might consider a Thread border router for a more robust network solution for your smart devices.

Keep in mind that Philips Hue primarily uses Zigbee, which doesn’t burden your Wi-Fi network as much as direct Wi-Fi connections.

DD-WRT could be an option for a more customizable router experience, allowing you to manage network traffic more efficiently and securely.

Be sure to check the compatibility of your router with DD-WRT before installation to ensure it supports all the features you need.

I’ve successfully connected 58 devices to my TP-Link Archer router without any issues. It’s not a mesh system, but it handles everything seamlessly.

Does it support a large area without using mesh technology?

@Mary
It covers my 1400 sq ft home perfectly without any need for additional mesh nodes.

Can anyone recommend a TP-Link router or similar that can cover a 3100+ sq ft area without resorting to a mesh setup?
