That would be interesting. Hopefully, they aren’t overpriced.

Watch them release just a handful at a time and sell out instantly to scalpers.
The Google Store still has Nest Protect available. Not sure why it’s hard to find?

I thought I checked, but maybe I missed it. I’ve mostly seen the battery version still available, while the wired version seems discontinued. Major retailers like Costco, Home Depot, and Walmart don’t carry them anymore. Even on Amazon, only the battery model is listed.
The wired units on eBay still have 2015 manufacturing stickers, meaning even new units are almost 10 years old. Just reading the signs—it looks like Google is phasing them out. Frustrating, but not surprising from them. They already killed off Nest Secure in 2024.
@Maximilian
I had to replace a wired one recently, and I found it on the Google Store. The downside? The one they sent me only had 8 years left instead of 10.

For the price, Google should discount them if they’re already losing 20% of their lifespan. But of course, they won’t.
