Is the Nest outdoor camera still good or should I return it?

Nest cameras aren’t worth it anymore. They’ve removed features that used to be free and locked them behind a subscription. For example, you can’t even rewind the last 15 seconds of live footage without paying. Look at other brands instead.

@PhantomFable
I tried Arlo, but it was worse than Nest. At least Nest works most of the time. I hope better options come out soon.

Try another brand. Nest isn’t worth the hassle.

I’ve been using Blink cameras instead of Nest. They’re great—good video quality, night vision, and no subscription fees.

Blink cameras are fine if you’re okay with using their app. They don’t integrate well with systems like HomeKit.

@Randall
I’ve been struggling to figure out how to keep a live feed on Blink’s app or devices. Do you know if it’s possible to set one camera to always display live?

My Nest camera broke after six months, and even though it was under warranty, the process to get a replacement was awful. I had to upload pictures, do resets, test different outlets, and jump through hoops. In the end, they offered me a used camera as a replacement and made me pay for shipping. It’s ridiculous and not worth the hassle.
