Help with Existing Alarm System in Phoenix Area

I recently moved into a house in northeast Mesa with an existing hardwired alarm system that seems to be high-end. Unfortunately, the system isn’t functional due to a potentially dead power supply and missing passcode from the previous owners. The system covers a large house (6000 sq ft) with sensors on every door and window, so replacing it entirely would be costly and unnecessary if it can be salvaged.

My goal is to repurpose the system for local use, including:

  1. Arming it at night for notifications of open doors/windows.
  2. Remote arming/disarming and vacation monitoring without central monitoring.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

  • Contacted several local security companies, but they don’t handle takeover systems.
  • Looked into Konnected systems but had trouble finding responsive local installers.

I’d prefer a professional installer as I’m not comfortable doing it myself. I’m open to replacing the main board and keypad if necessary to make the system functional with modern tech (e.g., app integration like Envisalink).

I’ve attached pictures of the current system:

  1. System Panel
  2. Keypad
  3. Wiring
  4. Sensors
  5. Additional Components

Looking for:

  • Recommendations for alarm techs or companies in the Phoenix/Mesa area who can handle this.
  • Suggestions for DIY-friendly or pro-install systems that allow local monitoring and remote access.

Thanks in advance for your help!

A Honeywell dealer or tech can upgrade your panel, test the sensors, and add an Envisalink module for local monitoring without central station support.

I know a company in your area. Let me text the owner and confirm they can help. Is the system completely dead, or are parts of it still functional?

That system looks like OnQ, which is more of a home automation solution with integrated security. It’s old tech and no longer supported. You’ll likely need a new main board and keypad, but a home automation company might be a better fit since security companies avoid this type of system.

I recommend reaching out to these companies:

  1. iDesign/ECD Systems (Tempe Marketplace area)
  2. AAA Smarthome (Scottsdale)
  3. Bay Alarm (Tempe)

They might be able to reuse the sensors while replacing the panel and head-in components.
