Just replace the smoke detectors with battery-powered ones from your local hardware store. Easier and safer.

Exactly. Way less hassle for what you’re trying to do.
You could wire the smoke detectors directly into the Honeywell AD12612 power supply in your system. It looks like your alarm system was converted to use a GC2 panel with a wireless translator, so that old Safewatch system is pretty much useless without a lot of rewiring.
