Check Out My Mid-Installation Smart Home Wiring Project…

WIRE DUCT, google it.

Organized. :+1:t2:

Stupid is what stupid does. But is it stupid if it works? Really ugly work though.

What are the advantages over wireless? We renovated an old home a while back and went wireless (Lutron RA2) to avoid wiring costs and because we didn’t have a great place for the wiring closet. We have to have a couple repeater but it’s been solid. I wonder what I’m missing out on.

@Ricky
Because I don’t trust wireless devices. I like the option of swapping hardware down the road without worrying about protocols. Because I had to pull wires anyway, it was a no-brainer for me

I wouldn’t trust this not to burn me alive.

I did field service for Lutron, and there’s a reason yours works. I was working with new stuff rated for 30’ line of sight. It confused me because it was working from 150’. I finally realized that connecting it while being at the place I was meant the proper receiver was working, and not a local one passing the signal. The 433MHz range is low-noise and generally clear, meaning your batteries should have no problem sipping the sensors at the 10-year point when they’re rated for replacement and still functioning properly. :+1:
