Anyone got recommendations for a secure safe?

depends who you’re worried about. for regular thieves, a heavy mounted safe is enough. if you’re concerned about expert safe crackers, you may need something more secure.

i’m not expecting to keep an expert out, just want something that buys me some time. my alarm goes off, but response time here is around 40 minutes.

@Gary
consider hiding the safe somewhere unusual. if they can’t find it, they can’t break into it!

fort knox is a solid choice.

maybe check out graffunder safes. they’re pricey, though.

found a video series on safe types that was really helpful. check out “choosing a safe” on YouTube.

got an american security safe here, happy with it so far. for high-end, definitely check fort knox.

drake safe company in roxboro, nc is a good option. they only have a facebook page, but their safes are built to last.

if it’s within your budget, go for a full-size safe that’s heavy and can be anchored down.

have you considered a safe deposit box at the bank?

i did, but after covid, i couldn’t access it for months. that’s why i’m leaning towards a home safe.

makes sense. i keep a small safe at home for quick access to important documents, but other things like bonds are in a safe deposit box.

go for one with a sargent & greenleaf lock.

most burglars aren’t pros, and won’t mess with a solid security container or TL-rated safe. if someone’s specifically targeting your safe, though, they might keep trying until they get in.
